Land of Turquoise Domes Tour and Travel Company is happy to help you obtain Tourist, Business and Airport visas for your journey to our country. Please contact us via our email with as much information as you can provide together with a scanned copy of the identity page of your passport, we will guide you through the application. Please note that the ultimate decision is by the consular and immigration officials. To assist you to understand the visa application process and visa types please see the summary below.

All non-Iranian nationals, with a few exceptions, will require a valid visa to enter the country. You are advised to apply directly to your nearest Iranian Consulate where you can get an application form and the list of the required documents. The process can take up to 8 weeks so please allow enough time for your application. Generally an ordinary passport with a minimum of 6 months validity is the starting point.

If you would like us to assist you with your visa application please write to us, stating your preferred tour and dates. We will help you along and guide you through filling in the assembling application form and assembling the required documents. We can also apply to the Iranian visa authorities on your behalf to obtain a visa reference number which can help the process at the consular office.

There are a number of visa types; here are the main categories:


Are issued to foreign nationals interested in making a trip to Iran for tourism purposes. The holders of tourist visas can either travel individually or in tour groups for the duration of their visa validity. Please note that at the moment British, Canadian and American tourists travelling to Iran must have a pre-set trip itinerary and have to be accompanied by a registered tour guide.


Is for foreign nationals who wish to travel to Iran on official business, trade negotiations, trade fairs or participation in conferences (economic, cultural, etc.) and sport tournaments.


Travellers holding ordinary passports can apply for a 15 day tourist visa on arrival at some of International Airports in Iran (IKIA Tehran, Kish, Qeshm, Boushehr, Shiraz, Tabriz, Mashhad, Esfahan, Asalouyeh and Chahbahar airports). This does not apply to citizens of all countries and for the time being citizens from United States of America, United Kingdom, Afghanistan, Jordan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Somalia, Iraq, Canada and Colombia would need to apply for a tourist visa before commencing their trip. Please check with your nearest consular office to get an update on the list.
If you would like to travel to Iran and obtain your visa on arrival, it is advisable to let us apply for it in advance and provide you with a reference number. This would save you some time at the airport and the passport officer can process your visa more efficiently.

Press visa

Is issued for journalists and representatives of foreign media and press who intend to travel to Iran to cover news events or produce reportages or documentaries. Applicants for this type of visa should contact their nearest consular office.

Diplomatic and Service visa

Applies to dignitaries, government officials and foreign nationals who wish to travel to Iran either in connection with their official visit (invitation by Iran) or to take over their permanent/temporary diplomatic/administrative assignment in a diplomatic/consular mission or an international organization.
